These bumps appeared 4 months after Juvederm lip filler, could they be permanent?

4 Months ago I had 1ml of juvederm in my top and bottom lip. It's been fine up to now but these lumps have now apprared, on the top and the bottom lip, on the same side! 2 Days ago I went to the private hospital where I had the filler and I paid to have the lumps dissolved, but this has not worked and they didn't seem to know what the lumps were. Is it possible that I will have these lump forever? Does anybody know why this has happened? I'm very worried :(

Judging from your photos you have developed a chronic inflammatory reaction to filler that is not very common with Juvederm. I assume you had injections of hyaluronidase in attempt to dissolve the residual filler. However, since no change was noticed, it is possible that it is not that much filler per se but a tissue reaction to filler. In this case an injection (sometimes more then one) of steroid may be in order to eliminate the nodules. Good luck!
