Mentor 225 moderate plus or 250 HP implants? (Photo)

Implant sizing is complicated, and even practitioners can get confused or misunderstand how an implant impacts body tissue. Your crease will drop, even if not done intentionally. What's really important is the nipple to fold distance on stretch. If that is adequate, in your case 6.5 cms if you want the 250 volume, then you can get the moderate profile device.

and thank you for your question. Many factors including patient's desired
breast size, skin envelope (both quality and quantity) and breast width
diameter among others are important in selecting the implant size. Implant
profile to a large extent is based on your desired breast volume and the width
of your breast footprint. There is always some degree of variability and
plastic surgeons often use their aesthetic judgement when it comes to choosing
the final implant. In a typical consultation, you try a
variety of in-bra sizers and in combination with several other measurements
that your surgeon will do, the final implant volume is selected. Use of 'goal
pictures' is  also an effective way to communicate your goals with your
plastic surgeon. My best advice is that you communicate your goals and
aesthetic ideals with your surgeon as clearly as possible and trust your
surgeon's skills and abilities to deliver what you are looking for.

None of the modalities to approximate final results from breast implants are 100% accurate; they merely facilitate the patient and the board certified PS concurring on the size and type of breast implant which will come the closest to reaching the patient's goal. My patients prefer to try on sizers under garments they typically wear to determine if they fit as expected and help allay some of their trepidation associated with this decision.   Recommend that you follow the same procedure with the moderate plus profile in 225, and 250 and high profile in both sizes. I would recommend that you go with that size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy. There is so little difference in the two sizes that I would defer to the larger of the two.

Thank you for your question and photographs.  I think you are starting from an excellent position and should anticipate a nice result.  Breast implant selection is an exciting, but stressful part of the breast augmentation process as there are so many choices. Unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast parameters, as well as permits an in-depth discussion as to your desired goals and outcome. I would recommend seeing additional ASPS board certified plastic surgeons to ensure that the implants you decide upon are the right ones to meet your expectations.  It sounds as if it may be wise for you to continue to try on several of the implants so that you can have a better visual representation as to what they would look like.  Best wishes!

You are a great candidate for a breast augmentation.  225MP or 250HP should both work for you.  The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

Both of the implants are on the small side so I would definitely go with the larger. I almost never use a 225 and I’m conservative. Either hi profile or moderate plus would work pretty much the same. The difference in the diameters and heights of the implants are a matter of millimeters and I don’t think the difference would even be noticeable.

It is impossible for any of us to answer your specific question without seeing you in person and performing our own measurements (which have an element of subjectivity, depending on who is measuring and how). My best advice to you is NOT to weigh in too much on which implant your ought to have selected for your surgery. Your plastic surgeon is far better equipped to make this decision than you are, with your very important input as to the "look" you are trying to achieve. It is very important to share with your plastic surgeon images of women's breasts which you would like to emulate or which you consider to be "favorites". Hi, thank you for your question. The type of implants you mentioned have only a slight difference between them - a few millimeters of projection. You may be able to visualize the difference using a Vectra 3D imaging system to compare the two sizes to your current size. Discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon. I hope this helps. There is not much difference between the two implants. Enhancement, unfortunately, is not an exact science, and is mostly about improvement. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them.
