Can I get my lip fillers and Botox 1.5 months after BBL?

Hi. I have had my fillers and Botox for a couple of years now. When I tried to get it done again after Lipo my doctor said that because my body was still healing the fillers and Botox wouldn’t last. I’m very confused but I also need my lip fillers since i wanted to maintain the same size so people wouldn’t notice that they change in size and look fake.

Yes, you can get lip fillers and Botox post a Brazilian Buttock Lift.  Lip fillers such as Juvaderm and Restylane,  you will see results right away. Botox results can take 7-14 days to take effect. Guidelines that we suggest with fillers and neurotoxins (Botox and Dysport) are no laying flat or working out for 4 hours after treatment. Healing from a surgery would not cause you to "metabolize" your fillers or neurotoxins faster.  Many of our patients will opt to have fillers done around the same time/ during their healing from a surgical procedure because their downtime is limited. If they were to have a bruise or swelling patients will take advantage of  their time off work. I hope this helps you and wish you all the best.

Hi Aniemore.  We do not know of any reason why you would not be able to get filler or Botox after your surgery.  In fact, some patients that are getting surgery have these procedures on the same day.  Best of luck.

Yes, you can have Botox and Fillers after a BBL. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Yes, you should be able to have Botox and filler treatment a month and a half after your BBL.  Be sure to see an expert injector in your area for the best results.

you can have the procedure performed at the same time, what your doctor was telling you is his/her opinion, there is no science behind that opinion.However, you need to trust your provider or find one that you can trust and follow their recommendations.

Your doctor probably wants to be conservative as your body is in a state of changed metabolism in the early weeks after surgery.  I would think, though, that if you are 6 weeks or longer out from your BBL, it is unlikely that you will have unusual reactions or a difference in your result from Botox and fillers than you are accustomed to. Maybe your surgeon is just being extra cautious and it's hard to find fault with that!

Hi there.  I routinely administer BBL, Botox and Fillers at the same visit and have not found any problems with longevity of the injectables.  I think it would be perfectly fine.  It would be perfectly fine to receive these in conjunction with or after Lipo as well..
