How do I get jaw definition - do I need a mandible implant? (photos)

Hello, hope you are well. A short incision neck lift would most likely be the best option for you. With this procedure, the deep depots of fat in the neck can be removed which create a more defined contour, and sharper cervicomental angle. The neck muscles can also be sculpted if necessary to achieve this aim. You appear young, and if your skin elasticity is good, lateral incisions around the ears are not necessary. However, sometimes I use bipolar radiofrequency (NeckTite) to tighten the skin if necessary. Based on the photos you provided, I see no role for mandible implants on the chin or elsewhere.

If you are concerned with your jaw angles and improved definition then the use of fillers for temporary improvement should give you a nice result. If you are interested in something more permanent, then I would recommend custom mandibular angle implants.

A mandible implant would not of value to you. You may benefit from a neck lift.

More information is needed, such as your age and the amount of extra skin in your neck. As long as your skin tone is acceptable, then you can undergo a neck lift procedure which accomplishes removal of the fat deposits above and below the platysma muscle in the neck along with it platysmal-plasty. No skin removal is required with a neck lift procedure. No chin implant is required due to the fact of the projection of your mandible is fine. If you have loose and inelastic skin in the neck, then a lower face and neck lift is required to tighten loose and inelastic skin.

Your lower jaw is underdeveloped and the face 'blends' in with the neck in a common situation. One only needs a 'strip' of implant material extending from the angles of the mandible/jaw and tapering properly/artistically to the side of the chin. The bone support is much more esthetic long term than any soft tissue 'tightening'
