I have always had a small, undefined chin and jawline. They suggested 8 syringes, 6 voluma and 2 syringes of Juvederm. I thought that was a lot of filler, but was told it was normal day 1 I was not happy but thought I would give it some time. Today is day 3 and I think my jaw looks asymmetrical and heavy/bulky. What should I do? dissolve some in the bulky areas? more in the upper part of the face to create balance? I am going on a trip in 10 days and wanted this all resolved by then.
Answer: Uneven results 3 days after jawline enhancement Hello and thank you for your question. It is a good idea to wait 2 weeks from your treatment to see the final results. Bruising and swelling are inevitable and can skew the final results until you are completely healed. Hyaluronic acid based fillers (such as Juvederm and Voluma) absorb fluid from your tissues and swell up a bit by nature. This along with the swelling from the injections and your body's inflammatory response to tissue injury can cause lumpy, uneven results temporarily. I suggest a gentle massage of the treated areas, intermittent icing, and taking arnica supplements in the meantime to help speed up the process. If you are still unhappy with your results, or are not noticing any gradual improvement over the next 4 or 5 days, you should follow up with your injector and have him/her take a look. There is always the option to dissolve the product with hyaluronidase, if need be. Best of luck!

Answer: Jawline filler Unfortunately it is not possible at this time to make a determination whether there is swelling or or overfilling. The timing of your trip is a problem because swelling may take 2 weeks to resolve. The good news is that the type of fillers that were used are reversible. I would recommend waiting another week if possible, and if you still appear asymmetrical, ask your injector to reverse the side or areas that appear overfilled. Good luck

Answer: Swelling after Jawline Enhancement / Facial Sculpting / Facial Contouring -- injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa, Radiesse It is common to have swelling for a couple weeks after fillers, so it's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. If after 2 weeks you're still unhappy with your results, you can always have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. In our practice, to create a more defined jawline and to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Too much filler? Asymmetric looking jawline? The problem is it’s only day three and you might be dealing with swelling more than anything else. Once the swelling subsided in a week or more you will be able to see if there is too much filler in there or if it was put in asymmetrically. If it’s too much or uneven you can get it dissolved.

Answer: Injectable filler in the jawline Although I agree that it can take up to 2 weeks to see the final result of most fillers, 8 syringes into the jawline seems like a lot of filler. We typically like to do jaw augmentation in stages, not only for a more gradual and natural look, but also because clients can decide whether or not they want more augmentation at each stage.Although you have a trip coming up, it might be better to not rush the process. If you are unhappy at 2 weeks, it is possible to use a small amount of hyaluronidase dissolving enzyme to reduce some of the asymmetry. Keep in mind that this can be unpredictable, and can dissolve more filler than is desired, which can lead to more asymmetry.Keep in mind that some of the asymmetry may be due to underlying bruising, which may not be visible at the surface. Once the bruising subsides the asymmetry may improve. In any case, I would strongly suggest following up with your injector about 10 days after your appointment for a re-evaluation.
