I got fillers 4 months ago under my eyes and hit my face yesterday with a heavy full Cardboard box while I was trying to lift the box. Could this accident deform or move my fillers?

Answer: Changes in filler after injury to face After 4 months the filler should be “set” or anchored in the skin where it lives. It is unlikely to deform or or move despite a blow or forceful facial injury. If it a hylauronic acid filler it can retain some the swelling that occurs with the injury. So, it may look a bit “puffy” even after the injury has healed and the swelling subsides. The HA molecules like to hold onto that water, but this will go away and things will go back to normal. No harm done. Hope this all makes sense and is useful for you, Dr. Amy

Answer: Filler Great question thanks! Most fillers are incorporated into your tissue at that point so it would be unlikely that a hit in the face would distort the filler or move the filler. Thanks again for your question. Take care, Dr Lindsay J Sturm
