I read Exilis is used for upper eyelid rejuvenation, and used on the body to destroy fat. Is it safe on eyelid or destroy fat?

Exilis Ultra has two different treatments built into the same machine. The machine can be set to just tighten skin with either a large body type handpiece or for smaller face areas and decollete with a smaller handpiece. The larger handpiece can also cool the skin which drives the heat energy deeper into the tissues to kill fat cells. This is used for specific and smaller areas of fat reduction while another machine from the same BTL company called Vanquish ME is used for larger areas and bulk fat reduction. Be sure to go to a physician who has experience with the machines and what they do. They can pick the best treatment for you and therefore make it safe.

Depending on the handpiece and the settings used the exilis will melt fat and or tighten skin.  On the face we do not set it to treat fat. Exilis is safe to treat around the eye area. The skin is pulled up or down so that the treatment is not performed directly over the eye.

When doing the procedure on the lids you are not supposed to place the device on the lid itself that would harm your eye. Instead the skin below the lid is pulled down and the lowest portion of the lid in treated resting on the cheek area. It should never be applied directly on your lid with the eyeball below.Yes it also can destroy fat provided the temperature reached about 44 c in the fat for a period of at least 5 minuted. Depending on your area the treatment time for fat should be about 12 min with 4 min of tightening
