What is the success rate of fat transfer to the face? What are my other options?

Question

I am 27 and up until last year, I was always mistaken for a teenager. I had a very plump, youthful face. I recently went from 145 lbs to 110 lbs. I love my new body but my face is so skinny and old looking now. I went from looking 17 to looking 30 in just a few months. I want to have fat transferred to my face but I heard many horror stories and am worried about getting the procedure done and the fat not surviving. I don't want to waste money unless I'm 100% sure the results will be permanent.

But generally speaking, if you want to make your face fuller and if you want it to be permanent, then a fat transfer might be an option for you. Fat Transfer to your face is an excellent procedure for your problem.  This is long term and permeant with great results.  This procedure is now standardized and the results are predictable.
All of my patients are very happy and the results are long term.  The fat ages with you and looks much better than fillers.  I have been doing this procedure since 1994 with great success.  I would highly recommend this for your facial problems.

You need to make sure that you fat transfer is performed by a board certified plastic surgeon who understands proper grafting principles in order to maximize your results.

Be careful what you ask for, Fat grafting is pretty effective in the younger face. The trouble with it is that if you get pregnant, put on weight again or go thru menopause that the grafted fat cells, may put on weight and you face will get fatter where the fat was placed. This almost never looks good and is hard to fix. Permanent  means forever. I see these pts often and there is little that can be done to remove the fat. YOu are better off with some injectable fillers which are predictable.
