Thanks for your question. I would have you wait a few days, but then retinol can be used IF fat transfer is the only procedure you had done. If multiple procedures were done, for sure wait until your surgeon says you can resume use. But even if you are having just the fat done, I would still recommend that you discuss this with your surgeon BEFORE your procedure. Best of luck.
Topical retinol should be fine to use shortly after fat transfer. During the application, be careful about not manipulating the areas of fat transfer too much. We have our patients minimize facial massaging until approximately two weeks after the transfer has been performed.
If the only procedure performed was a facial fat transfer it would be safe to utilize retinol shortly after your surgery. If you had this procedure performed in conjunction with any resurfacing procedures you would want to wait to re-start your retinol until your physician instructs you to do so. Either way, it would be good for you to communicate with your surgeon and get their instructions regarding retinol use after the specific procedure you had. Good Luck
