My normal resting HR is always 80. Since surgery 5 weeks ago it's been high and now resting is 110. I'm not in any pain. Could this be from the swelling? Maybe because my body is still working to heal? It's scaring me.

Answer: Post-Op Tachycardia Hi Football Mom. Congratulations on your tummy tuck! As others have said, it is best that you have your tachycardia evaluated by your surgeon or primary care physician. There are many reasons for an elevated heart rate, including more common reasons such as dehydration, anemia, fever/infection, and medication side effects and lesss common but more serious conditions such as heart arrhythmias and blood clots in the lungs. Best of luck!
