I get some pimples here and there on my butt. It's usually worse during the summer but it's not severe. My dermatologist said that it's just the hair follicle that might get trapped or sweat. They're are not puss filled pimples. Just red dots with nothing in them. Would this affect a bbl?
Answer: Acne on butt. Would this affect a BBL? Butt acne is most often due to inflammation around hair follicles, or an irritation secondary to chronic rubbing, which can come with wearing tight-fitting clothes or waxing. A breakout should not interfere with your having a BBL, but tell your PS about your concerns so that they can be addressed with acne-fighting body wash, AmLactin to keep cells from clogging, or antibiotics.

Answer: BBL candidate Dear Nessamarq12, It is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If they are not infected, then you should probably be fine. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Acne on butt. Would this affect a BBL? Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. This condition should not prevent you from having a BBL. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Good luck :)

Depending on the severity of the acne, it may just require showering with a special soap daily for a few weeks before surgery. If it is more severe, it may require an antibiotics.

Answer: Folliculitis of buttocks most likely your folliculitis will not cause a problem with a BBL. Most likely the surgeon performing your procedure would follow normal protocols but conceivably might take special precautions like putting you on antibiotics a few days before or covering the skin affected during surgery. This is something that should be discussed during an in person consultation. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
