I get some pimples here and there on my butt. It's usually worse during the summer but it's not severe. My dermatologist said that it's just the hair follicle that might get trapped or sweat. They're are not puss filled pimples. Just red dots with nothing in them. Would this affect a bbl?

Answer: Acne on butt. Would this affect a BBL? There are things you can do before your surgery date to clear this acne up and decrease your chances of an infection. Depending on the severity of the acne, it may just require showering with a special soap daily for a few weeks before surgery. If it is more severe, it may require an antibiotics.

Answer: Folliculitis of buttocks most likely your folliculitis will not cause a problem with a BBL. Most likely the surgeon performing your procedure would follow normal protocols but conceivably might take special precautions like putting you on antibiotics a few days before or covering the skin affected during surgery. This is something that should be discussed during an in person consultation. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
