I'm getting a rhinoplasty and then after that considered getting a lip lift to better my upper lip. I measured the space from my lip to nose to be at around 14mm (with a basic ruler so not reliable) I don't want it to be a huge lift, would it be possible to only remove 2mm. I considered lip injections but am worried they'll look unnatural. should I get a lip lift in regards to the conditions listed above or would it be better to get lip injections? thank you for your time.
Answer: Lip Lift It is difficult to provide a formal assessment without seeing you as a patient in my clinic, or without more consistent photographs. From what I can see in the picture, you would be an excellent candidate for a small amount of dermal filler. I would not recommend a lip lift in your case. Dermal fillers can help balance volume and facial feature. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who is an expert in facial rejuvenation techniques.

Answer: Lip Augmentation Candidate -- Injectable Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella), Fat Grafting to Lips, NovaThreads for Lift I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. Technique is the key to a successful lip augmentation with fillers, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. An experienced physician will be able to determine which filler, how much filler, and which technique will give you the subtle result you're looking for. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Lip Lift The minimum I would remove is 3mm, as the incision needs to be justified. As far as philtral length, I decrease down to 10-12mm. So in your situation, you can potentially have 3-4mm removed. Check out the video below for more educational information.

Answer: Am I a candidate for a lip lift? To answer your question appropriately, you need to send a picture of your face with your mouth slightly open and relaxed to see if you show any upper teeth. The lip lift will increase the vermillion show, It can bring the base of your nose down to improve the drooping tip, If your teeth aren't to high, it will allow you to show some upper teeth. It is possible to remove 2 to 3 mm and I can even remove more, If we try to show teeth. I can perform the rhinoplasty and the lip lift at the same time so that you go through one recovery. You need to be seen or at least have a video meeting to decide if you are a good candidate before you make any trip arrangements.

Answer: Lip lift A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. From your photograph, you would be a good candidate for a lip lift.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
