Is it necessary to discontinue oral minoxidil before rhinoplasty & breast augmentation & when can it be continued?

Since oral minoxidil can lower your blood pressure, it's important to inform both your surgeon and your anesthesiologist that you are taking it. It is unlikely that you will need to discontinue it for any significant period. By disclosing your use of minoxidil, your medical team can appropriately adjust any other medications you may be receiving. This ensures your safety during surgery.

This is an excellent question to ask to your surgeon at your preoperative visit. I don't believe it would make a difference in so far as your surgeries are concerned, however, some surgeons like to avoid unnecessary medications before a general anesthesia procedure. Hello and thank you for your question. I allow my patients to continue that medication for surgery. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
