Payment options depend on the doctor and the practice. Some doctors have CareCredit. Some doctors have their own financing plans. There is no standard.
At Hair Restoration of New York we accept Care Credit as well as several other financing plans. To see if you qualify for Care Credit, you would just apply online at carecredit.com. If that financing plan does not work, you would need to contact my office to apply for the other options.
If you are female, a hairline lowering/forehead reduction type of procedure might be better for you than a hair transplant. The cost is between $7500 and $13,000 depending on whether a one or two stage process is best for you. If you are male and losing hair, a hair transplant is probably the better way to go. My practice takes CareCredit.
In our practice, the average hair transplant forehead reduction runs about $8,000 (+ of - $1,000) depending upon the number of grafts you need. As you probably know, foreheadreduction surgery comes in two types, the first is a surgical procedure thatgives you same day results, the second is a hair transplant that takes 6-7months to see. For men, my only concern is in the potential balding that mayoccur as most balding starts about your age and advances until themid-thirties. If that happened to you (your risk) then you will have to get ahair transplant to cover it as the frontal area is the place that geneticbalding starts in the young man. On my website, there are great pictures ofhair transplant lowering procedures in women and in our gallery on our website, you can see hundreds of men who had their hairline replaced, lowered orimproved. We do take Care Credit for financing.

In general, yes, forehead reduction is quite safe. There are some small risks such as numbness, bleeding, bruising, swelling, visible scar, etc, but most patients have very few if any issues. Visible scars are rare and can be corrected if needed. The extent to which the hairline can be lowered...
In males - particularly young ones - I don't normally recommend the hairline lowering procedure, simply because of the risk of future male pattern hair loss. Conservative hair transplants are usually better in men. You may experience male pattern hair loss even without a family history of it....
