It is normal to have a new bruise appear 3 weeks post-op? The bruise is a perfect rectangle from my cheek to my scare line by the sideburn area.
Answer: Facelift Thanks for your question. While it is not typical for a bruise to appear at 3 weeks out, it can happen. Sometimes deep bruises from the deeper dissection will appear several weeks after surgery. I would let your surgeon know as they may want to see you for a follow up appointment.

Answer: Bruising 3 Weeks After Facelift? Today's SMAS facelifts do undermine facial structures that are below the skin and subcutaneous fat. If there is bleeding in this area a small clot can form. The bruising won't appear until the clot dissolves and the pigment can migrate into the more superficial subcutaneous tissue. That might take 2-3 weeks to occur. However, any unexpected postop bruising or bleeding should be with your surgeon.

Answer: Facelift recovery Thanks for your question. I wouldn't say that is particularly common, but I doubt it's anything major to be concerned about. I would check in with your surgeon for him/her to take a look in person. Best wishes.
