Is it normal for a new bruise to appear 3 weeks after a facelift?

Damaging the parotid gland (salivary gland) or the parotid duct would be quite unusual with a facelift procedure. There may be something else going on to cause your symptoms. I would recommend seeing your ps and discuss your concerns.

From your photos it does not appear to me that you have skin necrosis after your facelift. It looks like bruising that is commonly seen. However, please follow-up with your plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your question.  Its always best to check with your surgeon as everyone will have different protocols.  I only place a compression tape on for 24 hours after surgery.  All The Best
