After Botox, jawline and cheeks are sunken (Photo)

The good news is, the results from BOTOX® and any other neurotoxin are
not permanent, so any results you’re not pleased with will go away over time.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to “undo” results from BOTOX® or speed up the
time it takes for your body to metabolize it. Injecting BOTOX® requires
precision to deliver the best result that meets the patient’s goals. If you’re
unhappy with this result, I would recommend talking with your doctor to explain
your concerns and adjust injection sites for your next treatment.

Botox is used for masseter hypertrophy; the decreased tone in the muscle leads to less bulk at the lateral jawline.  However, decreasing volume of the muscle can have an effect on surrounding areas.  Unfortunately, there is no way to reverse the effects of botox, but thankfully it is short lived and will fade with time.  Return to your doctor for evaluation as some botox may be able to be used on the left to create symmetry.

I've used Botox to shape and narrow the jawline for years. We generally don't see a change in the cheeks after Botox. In contrast, by reducing the size of the jaw muscle appropriately, our patients have reported that the cheeks may appear relatively fuller. If you haven't already, then speak with the plastic surgeon or dermatologist who provided your Botox treatment. Unlike some facial fillers, one can't reverse Botox. Fortunately, if you feel the cheeks have sunken after Botox, then waiting a few months for the Botox to wear off will resolve the issue.Best,Dr. Chaboki
