Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us. After having analyzed all the information provided to us, i can realize that you have very large breasts for your height and weight, and can be responsible for head, back, neck and shoulder pain.In the future may cause permanent osteo-articular damage in the back and shoulders and skin problems (mainly under the breasts). For for this reasons, certainly you need a breast reduction surgery.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-
Based on your photos and your back pain, yes, I'd say you are definitely a candidate for a breast reduction. And, at 18, your breasts should have stopped growing. Which means they won't get bigger, unless you gain a lot of weight, but they will continue to adversely affect your everyday life. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss. Given your size, your insurance company may even cover part of the procedure. Good luck.
Breast reduction is a functional operation. The plastic surgeon certainly wants an attractive result but patients benefit symptomatically from the procedure. From your description in the photographs I think you'd be an excellent candidate.
You are the ideal candidate for breast reduction which is a rather easy and straight forward procedure that relieves your back and shoulder pain instantly while also improving the aesthetic appearance.
Hi. You would be a good candidate for breast reduction and given your size there is no reason that you should wait. Because of your young age there are a few things you will need to consider including scarring, nipple sensation and regrowth in the future. Of course the above advice assumes that your surgeon deems you mature enough to make your own decisions.regardsdamien
Thank you for your inquiry. Based on your photosand the information you have provided, you seem to be a good candidate for abreast reduction. The downside of breast reduction in a young woman is that itmight limit your ability to breast feed should you so desire in the future. It would be appropriate for you to consult with a board-certified plasticsurgeon experienced in breast reduction surgery to determine if you want toproceed.
but you must accept the scarring that comes with it, the risk for numb nipples, and risks for diminished abilities to breast feed if this is important to you. So its really up to you and you will also need to find a surgeon who accepts your insurance to get this done.
Thank you for the question. Based on your description, you may be an excellent candidate for breast reduction surgery. This operation tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. “Typical” patients who present for breast reduction surgery are women who have disproportionately large breasts, causing problems such as neck/back/shoulder discomfort, postural changes, bra strap grooving, skin irritation/rashes under the breasts, and/or difficulty with activities of daily living and/or exercise etc. There may be both physical as well as psychosocial “stress” caused by the disproportionately large breasts.Reducing breast tissue mass and elevating the breasts on the chest wall tend to improve or alleviate many of the symptoms associated with the disproportionately large breasts.Patients considering breast reduction surgery should also consider the potential downsides (risks/complications) associated with the procedure as well. Poor scarring, for example may be associated with the procedure. Additional surgery may be necessary in the short or longer term for a multitude of reasons. When the time is right, I suggest that you seek consultation with well experienced plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you would be pleased with. Ultimately, careful selection of your plastic surgeon will be the most important decision you make.To this end, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.Once you have chosen your plastic surgeon carefully, it will be important for you to communicate her goals carefully as well. In my practice, I asked patients to use as many “visual aids”, such as goal photographs, during the communication process. Avoid the use of subjective terms; for example, "C or D cup” and/or “ as small as possible"… these terms can be confusing, since they may mean different things to different people. Once you have communicated your goals, your chosen plastic surgeon will be able to provide you with a more precise plan, including specific technique to be utilized.I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to breast reduction surgery concerns), helps. Best wishes.
Dear Imani, given your history of back pain and size of your breasts, you would probably be a good candidate for a breast reduction. The timing of the surgery depends on what would work out best for your schedule and lifestyle. If you wanted to go through your health insurance for this procedure a physical exam and pre op photos would be required by you health plan. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive breast reduction experience. Best wishes, Dr, Lepore.
Certainly deep vein prophylaxis is worthy of consideration based on your history. I was certainly discuss this with your surgeon. I'm not sure it's a good idea but certainly wouldn't criticize anyone who would use Lovenox.
