Have you ever done a breast lift and implants on someone who has a pacemaker?

I lost 125lbs. a year ago. Unfortunately I also lost my breasts! Nursing 5 children didn't help either. I need a breast lift and implants badly. I had open heart surgery 20years ago for a birth defect and required a permanent pacemaker, which I need 100percent of the time. I had paid and had date for surg when anesthesiologist cancelled surg and said I was too big a risk. I am so unhappy being flat chested after being a 40DDD and I don't know what I will do if no one will perform the surgery.

Sorry to hear your surgery was cancelled. You really need to discuss this with your plastic surgeon AND cardiologist as well as an anesthesiologist, possibly one who has experience with complex heart irregularities. There are cardiac surgery fellowship trained anesthesiologists who would most likely be more comfortable with the surgery. A pacemaker dependency alone is typically not an issue but you will need the pacemaker model and have a rep adjust it prior to surgery and after which may get expensive with a cosmetic procedure. but as mentioned by the others, your surgeon should be in communication with your cardiologist and the anesthesiologist should also have access to the records and discussion.  Surgery is done all the time on patients with pacemakers.  But you certainly are at some increased risks due to the surgery you had before and you should be fully informed before jumping 'all in' on this.

Having a pace maker is not necessarily a contraindication to breast surgery.  I have performed surgeries on patient with such devices.  What is important is for your surgeon, cardiologist, and anesthesiologist to discuss your wishes and planned surgery way before the day of the surgery.  All need to understand the full extent of your heart history and pace maker needs, and the potential risks of undergoing elective surgery.  This way the best and most informed decision can be made regarding your surgery, and whether to proceed or not.
