I REALLY want to get back to training. My surgeon said I can start light walking on the treadmill now (3 weeks out). I really want to start at least legs and biceps/triceps next week. Too soon?

Answer: Working out after breast lift/implants Thanks for your question. Best to check with your surgeon for specifics, but generally by 3-4 weeks, most patients can resume cardio activity. I ask my patients to hold off on heavy lifting (more than 10-15lbs) for at least 6 weeks, and avoid pressing/pushing exercises that activate the chest (pectoralis) muscle for at least 2 months. Good luck.

Answer: Can I workout 4 weeks after breast lift and implants? Thank you for the question. Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to returning to specific activities. He/she will know exactly what was done, how you are progressing, and exactly what type of activities you are returning to. Generally speaking, it will be important for you to return to activities in a very gradual/cautious fashion. "Listen to your body" as you do so. Having said that, most patients are able to drive approximately one week after surgery, engage in lower body exercises two weeks after surgery, lift more than 10 pounds 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, and run 4 to 6 weeks after surgery as well. Again, the plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to relevant advice. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
