Botched Botox. Droopy forehead, eyebrows and eyelids Will my eye brows/forehead go back up to their original state?

I had 20 units Botox done 40 days ago. 2 high on forehead,3 along brow each side, 1 in middle of brow. 2 each side low on nose. my eye lids were swollen with tingling, burning and itching. my eye brows and forehead drooped. The injection site in the middle of my bows swelled and it looked like liquid was under my forehead. Iced it, went down. But forehead looks droopy and especially in between my eye brows. I’m still dealing with burning, itching and heavyness droopyness and I’m on day 40.

I am sorry that you had a such a bad result and experience with your Botox.  The droopiness caused by the Botox should improve in the next 2-3 months since Botox usually last 3-4 months.  The burning and itchiness are unusual symptoms of Botox and would require a more formal evaluation to see if there is a nerve injury or other type of injury and if so, it may require a different type of treatment.

Sorry to hear that. The effect of Botox lasts only 4 months approximately. I would recommend you to see your doctor again and let him know about the itching because 20 units spread on all these areas is not a lot and you shouldn’t be experiencing itching, especially not after 40 days.

Thank you for your question and so sorry to read of your complications.  20 units of Botox in all of the areas noted is quite a low dose and you are noting some reactions that are not common such as burning and itching.  The effectiveness of your Botox treatment will be gone in 3-4 months.  That being said, my advice is to return to your injector for an evaluation of your result and to discuss your symptoms.  Good luck.

Either you are very sensitive to Botox and need less Botox to get the job done, or the injection sites were too low with respect to your brows.
All WILL return to their before-Botox-injection state....when the Botox wears off (usually about 3 months).  Sadly, we do not yet have a reversal agent.....although we know that those who exercise a lot burn through their neurotoxin (botox, xeomin, dysport) faster than others.

Bad experience with Botox. Good news, though, Botox only lasts 2.5-4 months typically.Next time try a more concentrated Botox mix with less injection sites, half the units and higher up in the brow.Tingling so far out from time of injection is unique. Make sure your injector is using the smallest needle possible.Best. Dr Brecht
