Hello, There are many ways to treat sweat, please see below. Botox- Botox is helpful in that it can decrease the production of sweat but not odor. It typically lasts about 6 months in the under arm area.Miradry- Miradry uses microwave energy to destroy apocrine and eccrine glands. It is better at eccrine gland destruction than apocrine and is currently only used on the underarm area.RF needling- Can be used anywhere on the body and can destroy both apocrine and eccrine glands. Has become the procedure of choice in my practice for hyperhidrosis due to its effectiveness.Nerve ablation-Not commonly performed anymore as side effects are often worse than treatment and effectiveness is often limited.Oral medications- Too many side effects to be effective.Topical medications- Works by blocking glands. Many patients state how not effective mechanism.Best,Anil Shah
Excessive sweating can be treated with topical and/ or oral medications. If these prove unsatisfactory, one can consider other options such as Botox (in a fairly dilute concentration and injected superficially into the skin of the affected area) and radiofrequency-microneedling options (such as Fractora, Vivace, etc). Miradry is a permanent sweat reduction option, typically employed for armpits. Seek out a consultation with a Dermatologist, Facial Plastic Surgeon, or Plastic Surgeon to discuss your goals and treatment options. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. There are a few underlying medical conditions that can trigger excessive sweating, and an in-person evaluation needs to be done to rule out any of those conditions. Multiple treatment options are available to help with sweating such as topical or oral medications, Botox, Miradry, etc. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss treatment options that best suit your needs. Take care and good luck.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the full effects of botox can take up to 2 weeks so yes the drop may get worse. If the drop is from the forehead being injected you will just need to wait for it to bounce back. It could take 1 month. I would let the injector know to prevent this f...
The effect of Botox lasts an average of 3-4 months in most people. Some people start to notice it wearing off after 2 months, others it lasts longer. Unfortunately, what you are experiencing right now will most likely last for the entire three months. However, many...
Botox atrophys muscles, so yes. If I may ask a question I do not understand why you would want to target muscles you need and use with Botox. Are you experiencing muscle spasms or have a condition, such as tics, that needs those muscles to relax?
