I am allergic to any kind of Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport

Question

I have tested them all including in the Montefioro hospital in NYC, but nobody can figure out why. I used to have n problem for years, and all of the sudden I started having incredible bumps on my forehead whenever I received any of these injections. s there any way out? I live in NYC thanks

Thank you for your question and so sorry to read of your allergic reactions.  Since you have been tested and it has been determined that you do have a true allergy to these products, my advice is to avoid them completely.  My advice would be to focus on good skin care and should the situation arise, you may be able to consider dermal filler if appropriate.  Best of luck.

While allergies to neruomodulators aren't common they can occur.   You may find taking a break for a few years may help.  In the meantime you can consider other treatments such as SkinPen or Morpheus8 to address skin tone and texture.  I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

If different forms of saline which is used to reconstitute Botox were used and you still have an allergic reaction, that means that you're simply allergic to the protein molecule of the botulinum toxin. Unfortunately this is something that does occur but it is extremely rare. Good luck from New York City

All of these treatments are elective.  It is nice if you can have them but none are mandatory.  If are one of the rare people who is allergic to these products, avoid them.  Sorry.

Hi Lisdont, It would have been great if you sent photos. Given that you are allergic to Botox, you should also  be tested before having fillers. If your wrinkles are shallow, you doctor may try other options such as laser resurfacing, chemical peeling or microneedlng with PRP.All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
