Options for overzealous blepharoplasty? (photos)

Question

I had a facelift and was encouraged to do upper eyelids at the same time for a harmonious result. Against my better judgment I said yes. Facelift looks great but my eyes are so different that I don’t look like me anymore. The result screams “I’ve had work done.” Options?

While your blepharoplasty result is not terrible, as you are aware, your appearance before surgery was much more natural. It is possible to lower the upper eyelid crease, correct the bulky upper eyelid platform, and lash ptosis. I am attaching a video that shows how these are repaired. There is help for you.

You have increased tarsal platform show - more of the upper eyelid is now seen. It's also giving the impression of a higher eyelid crease, whether or not that is really the case. You upper eyelids also look more hollow, and it's possible the blepharoplasty itself hollowed the eyes, or simply revealed the hollows, or a combination of both.

It's possible you have pre-existing hollows because your undereyes are hollow and you didn't mention having prior undereye procedures. However your eyes do look less almond-shaped and more round, so maybe you did have lower blepharoplasty as well.

Nevertheless, you are looking for management options. And I have to say your eyes looked beautiful before surgery.

I would be cautious in having surgery to lower the crease, because that will also lift the upper eyelid in return, and your upper eyelids already appear higher than before. They could end up looking retracted which you may really dislike.

Upper eyelid filler injections could give the effects of a fuller eyelid, a lower eyelid crease, and decreased tarsal platform show. This may be a good option to consider starting with.
