Hello, I am a 38-year-old female, Iv had a scar under my eye since i was about 4. The scar is due to a dog bite. It’s been bothering me ever since. Now with age it is starting to sag and show even more now then ever. The nature of hollowness that starts to occur with age and mild sagging of the skin is what’s making it very visible. I was hoping a simple fix such as blepharoplasty and some fat grafting would do the trick But I’ve been told by Dr. Christopher Zoumalan that it can not be fixed.
Answer: Scar Thank you for your question. There may be options to help improve the appearance of the scar. some of these can include microneedling, chemical peels, or surgical scar revision. I recommend consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon for an in-person examination and discussion regarding goals and options going forward. Best of luck!

Answer: Recommend starting laser treatment to help tighten the skin and make scar less noticeable Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Undereye Scar More Visible Now The scar itself is unlikely to be improved unless you had a scar revision or maybe a laser, but you need to be careful because those can cause skin shortage and you may likely already have some. You appear to have some fat prolapse on that side and there's a hollow beneath it. Maybe some of this change that has occurred has caused you to notice a difference in the appearance of the scar, which is what I think you're trying to explain. A blepharoplasty with fat repositioning could change the contour and shadowing in that region and potentially make you happy, but it won't necessarily change the nature of the scar itself. You need an in-person exam for proper recommendations.
