It is not common for anesthesiologists to do an epidural for an elective cosmetic surgery procedure. It may be an option if a patient has a medical co-morbidity that makes general anesthesia dangerous, but if that is the case, that patient should not be getting a BBL.
Hello, thank you for your question.In my practice I normally use epidural anesthesia for liposuction and BBL but that doesn’t mean that this type of anesthesia is better than general, every patient is different meaning that the type of anesthesia can be different for each patient, this is why before the surger the anesthesiologists make an interview so they can choose the best type of anesthesia for them.Beat wishes!
