Although the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, this procedure can be extraordinarily painful for the patient. You want the most dramatic transformation possible, and you do not want to be in pain. Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hi. Of course Epidural is a less risky anesthetic technique for any plastic surgery procedure. Our patients do not need so deep anesthesia, so there is no need for it.International Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS)25 year experience
It is not common for anesthesiologists to do an epidural for an elective cosmetic surgery procedure. It may be an option if a patient has a medical co-morbidity that makes general anesthesia dangerous, but if that is the case, that patient should not be getting a BBL.
Hello, thank you for your question. In my practice I normally use epidural anesthesia for liposuction and BBL but that doesn’t mean that this type of anesthesia is better than general, every patient is different meaning that the type of anesthesia can be different for each patient, this is why before the surger the anesthesiologists make an interview so they can choose the best type of anesthesia for them.Beat wishes!
Every doctor has their own protocol. The length depends on the the overall situation of your hysterectomy. On average, most plastic surgeons wait anywhere between 6 weeks to 3 months prior to considering surgery for a patient.
For safety reasons, 5000 cc is the generally accepted upper limit for liposuction in an outpatient setting, with the transfer being less than that.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
