How can you promote oxygen flow after a BBL? I messed up and smoked half a cigarette 10 days after surgery after I had a few drinks. I’m freaking out. Anyway to promote oxygen flow?
Answer: How can you promote oxygen flow after a BBL? Refraining from smoking is key for longterm BBL results. Nicotine constricts blood vessels and decreases blood flow. Maintaining blood flow to newly transferred fat cells is ideal to promote fat graft survival. Considering hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) will maximize the oxygenation of your overall body.

Answer: Cigs and BBL Thanks for writing,Cigarettes have nicotine which is very well know to spasm blood vessels and skin can die. Cigarettes also has Carbon Monoxide, the same thing that come out of the tail pipe of your car, Carbon Monoxide also binds red blood cells 200 times greater than Oxygen and therefore decrease Oxygen delivery. I have all my patients sign a cigarette risk consent and give them a position paper from the Plastic Surgery Society. I will also do urine nicotine levels pre-op if I think they are still smoking, if they are positive, the surgery is cancelled. The Bottom Line: If you have a problem, I have a problem and I hate problems. Throw the cigarettes away for ever, there are too many other problems such as throat, mouth and pharyngeal Cancer, even bladder cancer. Is it worth the risk?Stephen M.
