If the treatment of kybella post 6 weeks didn't work at all should I consider neck tight?

Great question. The answer to this question is individualized to your specific anatomy and desired results. Kybella works great to permanently dissolve submental fat. Patients typically need 3 treatments with Kybella that are spread 4-6 weeks apart. After the injections, the treated area can be swollen for 1-2 weeks. After the swelling goes down, the fat will start to dissolve, and the results will show. Chin liposuction is going to be better for someone who has a diffuse band of fat around the face. After the surgery patients must wear a face band to help hold the chin area tight. This band needs to be worn as much as possible for the first two weeks. Swelling after surgery can last for 6 weeks, but the results are going to be more dramatic. The surgery, unlike Kybella, is a one and done procedure. You have a great results from one treatment. I always advise my patients how many treatments to expect up front. Most patients do 2-3 treatments. The guy on the commercial had 6 treatments. That puts it in perspective. My patients typically proceed at this point with another Kybella treatment, then finish with something like Ultherapy to tighten the skin. If you are still having swelling, the Kybella is still working! It just means you haven't seen your "after" results yet. I would wait a little longer before going after that next treatment, until the tissues have recovered a little bit more. Best of luck!

Hi and thank you for your question. If firmness is still present 6 weeks after Kybella, you are most likely still experiencing jpost injection swelling. Swelling can be present for up to 12 weeks after Kybella treatment. Firmness and nodules are also common after Kybella, which can be gently massaged. Kybella usually take 3-6 treatments before results are noted. Don't just your results too harshly until the swelling/firmness subsides.
