Are there any weight restrictions for having a mommy makeover? I'm 36 years old 5'8" and 220lbs mother of two kids. I've been wanting to have it done for so long. I've lost about 50 lbs in the past few years and i'm super active at the gym a few times a week doing heavy weights and decent cardio. I like the way my legs and arms look. I just need help with my belly and breasts. Thank you!
Answer: Weight restrictions Thank you for your question. It is important that you are as close to your goal weight as possible before proceeding with a "mommy makeover" type surgery. Your results will be proportional to your weight at the time of surgery. Congratulations on losing the 50 lbs., but without the benefit of pictures to review I would recommend that you meet with a plastic surgeon who after a full consultation can tell you if you should have surgery at your current weight or try to get a lower BMI before proceeding. Good luck!

Answer: Weight BMI (Body Mass Index) is one factor when considering if someone is a candidate for a Mommy Makeover. Those with a BMI over 30 are at higher risk of complications such as infection, poor wound healing, and seroma. Based on the information provided your BMI is 33.4. A weight loss of 25 pounds would bring you to a BMI under 30.

Answer: Recommendations for Mommy Makeover The mommy makeover is a combination of procedures to bring a woman’s body back to the way she looked prior to pregnancy. Most commonly some variation of a #TummyTuck and #BeastSurgery are performed. Additional procedures can include liposuction, umbilical hernia repair. The most common #breastprocedures include #mastopexy or #breastlift, #breastaugmentation, #breastreduction. Considering the choice of procedures, there are no set limitations on actual body weight going into surgery. All you would need to do is seek out a local surgeon for a consultation in order to find the procedures that would meet your desired results.

Answer: Weight restrictions for a Mommy Makeover? Hello and thank you for your question.Congratulations on your weight loss. In my practice, we will not perform surgery on patients with a BMI of 40 or over. Yours is about 34, so that alone would not preclude you from undergoing surgery. If you do intend to lose more weight, you should be within 10 pounds of your goal weight before proceeding with surgery.I recommend that you seek consultations with a board certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options.Best wishes,Dr. Vath

Answer: In person exam required There is no specific weight. You need to be examined. You need to be evaluated in person so the anatomy and available operations can be presented to you. Then, you can consider what your goals and expectations are. When the surgeon and you agree on a plan that takes into consideration your present state, what you are trying to achieve, what is possible, and what will make you happy, then you can proceed.

Answer: Within 10-15 Pounds Congratulations on your hard work paying off! I typically recommend patients be within 10-15 pounds of their goal weight, below a BMI of 30, and done having children, prior to having abdominoplasty surgery. These qualifiers ensure you will get the best result with the least amount of risks. Best of luck and hope this helps!
