Are there any weight restrictions for having a mommy makeover? I'm 36 years old 5'8" and 220lbs mother of two kids. I've been wanting to have it done for so long. I've lost about 50 lbs in the past few years and i'm super active at the gym a few times a week doing heavy weights and decent cardio. I like the way my legs and arms look. I just need help with my belly and breasts. Thank you!

Answer: Weight restrictions for a Mommy Makeover? Hello and thank you for your question.Congratulations on your weight loss. In my practice, we will not perform surgery on patients with a BMI of 40 or over. Yours is about 34, so that alone would not preclude you from undergoing surgery. If you do intend to lose more weight, you should be within 10 pounds of your goal weight before proceeding with surgery.I recommend that you seek consultations with a board certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options.Best wishes,Dr. Vath

Answer: In person exam required There is no specific weight. You need to be examined. You need to be evaluated in person so the anatomy and available operations can be presented to you. Then, you can consider what your goals and expectations are. When the surgeon and you agree on a plan that takes into consideration your present state, what you are trying to achieve, what is possible, and what will make you happy, then you can proceed.

Answer: Within 10-15 Pounds Congratulations on your hard work paying off! I typically recommend patients be within 10-15 pounds of their goal weight, below a BMI of 30, and done having children, prior to having abdominoplasty surgery. These qualifiers ensure you will get the best result with the least amount of risks. Best of luck and hope this helps!
