Is it safe to shower/wash your surgical areas with water in DR?

Question

Is it safe to shower/wash your surgical areas with the water in the DR? I know that the water isn't safe to drink, so it seems that it wouldn't be safe to wash surgical areas. I was hoping someone from DR would have an answer and what the usual protocol is for bathing post-op. Thank you.

Thank you for your question and it does sound like you would be correct. If the water is not that safe to drink, then it would be most likely best to wash with bottled water as well. Double-Check with your surgeon and confirm. Best of luck to you.
