Thanks for your question and photo. There are three types of corner lip lifts, each of which provide their own idiosyncratic benefits. The noninvasive route would be fillers plus or minus a neuromodulator such as Botox® into the depressor anguli oris muscle. This treatment route is good for mild cases. However, corner lip ptosis progresses with age. A traditional corner lip lift will elevate the drooping corners of your mouth while at the same time, help eradicate the small fold (marionette fold) that originates from the corner. The surgery can be performed under local anesthesia and results are subtle yet dramatic. The DAO release is performed within the mouth but is a less effective treatment option than a traditional corner lift (the effects of which can be predicted by injecting Botox ® into the aforementioned muscle). A medial corner lip lift is one which elevates the corners of the mouth, lessens the marionette folds and also can directly reshape the lateral vermillion. It is essentially a "magic trick". Results are permanent, subtle and yet, as mentioned, very dramatic. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in lip augmentation to discuss best individual treatment plan.
Thank you for your question. While fillers are an option, the corner lip lift is a permanent procedure to subtly raise and even the overall mouth contour. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine your candidacy.Best wishes,
Shirleybird. Fillers like Juvederm Ultra plus works very well in the oral commissures, corners of your mouth. Placed properly, Juvederm raises the corners nicely. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with lots of filler experience. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing your question. You may wish to consider a small amount of botox near your jawline to help with the downturned appearance of your corners as well as filler placement along the lower portion of each. This should help improve upon your current appearance. Hope this helps.
A combination approach would give the most improvement. I recommend fillers, botox and pdo nova threads to improve shape and provide lift. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Juvederm injections, as well as a small amount of Botox in the muscles that pull the corners down would be helpful. This is a commonly treated area that responds well to treatment
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photograph. Based on your narrative and photo, I would suggest a combination approach using Juvederm and Botox. Beautiful and natural results can be achieved. Please be sure to see an expert injector for an in-person consultation to fully discuss your goals and expectations in order to determine the best treatment plan. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Shirleybird, try hyaluronic acid fillers may help with judicious use of Botox but be ready to be underwhelmed. You will decide for yourself if it is worth the money. See an MD injector in my opinion. Good luck!
Since you have proven that the filler concept is not going to work for your mouth corner issues, the surgical alternative is a corner of the mouth lift. Your mouth corners are challenging because you have linear skin folds that extends outward well away from the corners of the mouth. Not even a surgical lift its going to completely eliminate that issue.
Restylane Lyft would be the best way to lift the corners of the mouth. I do this procedure every day to lift the corners. In addition Thermage can lift and tighten the jowls and is a great combination for this as well. Please consult an expert in cosmetic liquid injections and lasers for the best results. Best, Dr. Green
