Hi and thank you for your question! The lines in forehead can be treated with Botox, but when deep and static, then filler can be used. I recommend smoother hyaluronic acid fillers in that area to avoid putting pressure on the blood vessels that run in the area. I hope it helps and good luck!
It is important to evaluate you in person, and see if those lines are from the muscle hyper activity or if they are just from lack of collagen in the skin, If you have had Botox and the improvement is minimal, then you may be a candidate for facial fillers like Juvederm, Belotero or Restylane.
Additional Botox with fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp can give improvement for these lines. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Botox serves to relax the muscles that, by repeated motion, create fine lines and wrinkles. In your case, there are static lines (lines that are visible at rest). Dermal fillers would be a good option to help fill out the lines, especially a hyaluronic dermal filler such as Juvederm.
Looking at a static picture and not a video or before/after contracting your muscles, it's difficult to say. I'd at least try a neuromodulator like botox first. And if that doesn't improve the appearance, then you can always add filler. Using filler in this area is not common, and many patients who were told that they needed filler and tried this method of using neuromodulators at the effective dose, later found that this method was the answer. Of course, chose your injector carefully, not the best "price". This is your forehead.
It does not appear that these lines are due to muscle contraction and so Botox/Dysport will not help. However, dermal filler can be injected into the forehead to soften any irregularities. Forehead filler injection requires advanced technique so only have it done by an experienced injector.
From your pictures your lines appear to be outside the area supplied by the muscles that cause the 11 lines. That is why Botox has not helped. Hyaluronic Acid fillers can be used to smooth out the forehead. However this is a very vascular area where you should be treated by an expert to diminish the chances of accidental injection into a vessel. Best Wishes, Maurice Vick MD
Hi,Thanks for the question!I wish you've sent some more views from front as well as when you scowl, etc. However based on very limited info, these can be sleep lines (if you are a side sleeper), if my guess is right, dermal fillers would be the best approach.Hope this helps!
Thanks for the question Egibbons15. It is difficult to say by looking at the picture whether it would respond to additional Botox. Getting examined by an experienced provider is key to determine if there are some underlying voids in the tissue or bone that's causing these lines. The good news is that there should be a way to treat these. And most importantly remember, "If you go to a barber you get a hair cut"....get into someone who can properly and effectively diagnose and treat you.
Egi,Forehead lines that do not respond to Botox means that the wrinkles are not due to muscle movement, but rather are etched into the skin (think folded crease into a paper.) The contours of these lines can be tackled in a few ways that include microneedling, fillers, and lasers, to name a few. Consultation with an expert aesthetic physician is highly recommended. All the Best!Hardik Doshi, M.D.
Hi @DNE. I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thanks for your question Brendaxoxo. Unilateral(one sided) ringing in the ear is most likely a medical condition called tinnitus. The problem is that there are many different reasons why someone might develop tinnitus. Chances are it is not the Hylenex or Juvederm. ...
Hello and thank you for your picture. One of the reasons for your nasolabial folds to become so prominent is the fact that your face got thinner from the rapid weight loss. Your cheeks have lost fat and support, which created the nasolabial folds. You can...
