Acne production changed after lower facelift? (Photo)

Question

I had a lower deep plane FL in September 2022. Seems my skin is developing more frequent break outs. Mostly sebum or small hard bumps under the skin. Could this be due to the pull on my hair follicles? It’s quite discouraging. Any advice here would be great!

It is possible that the breakouts you are experiencing could be related to your facelift surgery, as the pulling and stretching of the skin can potentially affect hair follicles and sebaceous glands. However, it is also important to consider other possible causes for your breakouts, such as hormonal changes, stress, diet, or skincare products.

It may be helpful to consult with your plastic surgeon or a dermatologist to determine the underlying cause of your breakouts and develop an appropriate treatment plan. They may recommend topical or oral medications, changes in skincare routine, or other treatments to help manage the breakouts and promote healing.

In the meantime, be sure to follow proper skincare practices, such as gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and avoiding harsh or abrasive products. Avoid picking or squeezing any bumps or pimples, as this can lead to scarring or further irritation.

It is also important to maintain realistic expectations and be patient with the healing process after your facelift surgery. It can take several months or more for the skin to fully heal and settle into its new position, and minor complications such as breakouts or temporary changes in skin texture are not uncommon. Stay in communication with your surgeon, follow their post-operative instructions, and trust the process of healing and recovery.
