Answer: One month B/A post op dear Patient: thanks for your question and photo! What you're describing might lead to a capsular contracture. It's still too early, I advise you to go to your post-op appointments with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and wait for the six month mark to make sure you will see your final results. Hope this helps!

Answer: Breast Asymmetry Hello,You are describing classic signs and symptoms of capsular contracture, the most common complication of breast augmentation; rejection does not occur with inanimate objects like breast implants. As you can see massage does not prevent or treat capsular contracture, nor is it necessary for normal healing. You may stop massaging your breasts. There is also no benefit in taking drugs like Singulair or Accolate, or taking vitamin E. Only time will tell if you develop permanent changes associated with capsular contracture, which can usually be determined by 6 months. It is unclear where your incisions are, but if you decide a revision surgery is necessary, be sure your surgeon is a revision specialist who performs that surgery through an inframammary incision. Best of luck!

Answer: Implant dropping Dear mar_isolochoa,dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position.I understand that you are worried about your implants are not dropping as expected. However, you are still in the early phase of the recovery period. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am.
