I've developed a rash on my Incisions and my legs 4 days ago, could this be related to my breast implants? (Photos)

Question

I am one month post-op today. Silicone, under the muscle, inframammary incision. Four days ago, I noticed a crusty yellowish residue on my support bra as the scabs begun to come off. I wash my bras regularly and use gauze pads to keep the incisions dry during the day. In the last two days, I have had a terribly itchy rash around my incisions and random rashes on my legs (could be coincidental). My next appt with PS is in a week. Benadryl cream helps alleviate the itch, not the rash remains.

The most common rash after augmentation would be a contact dermatitis, not unlike a diaper rash.  This generally requires a topical steroid or antifungal appllication.  You should see your surgeon earllier then a week to get a diagnosis and treatment to be sure.

From your story and photos it looks as though you have a contact dermatitis, perhaps from Steri-strips or a solution used at the time of surgery to make them stick. Scratching is not advisable. Please contact your surgeon to get seen sooner. This is not serious but should be addressed with the proper prescribed topical medication. Good luck.

This looks like a contact dermatits/allergic type reaction to the tape. I would contact your plastic surgeon to be seen sooner and stop whatever topically you are placing on the incision.

If you are having problems with your incisions, you need to see your surgeon. Having said that, this looks suspiciously like a reaction to neosporin. If you have been putting neosporin on your incisions, then this is likely the cause of the rash.

Congratulations on your breast augmentation.  I would see your plastic surgeon today to make certain that we did not have an infection. The rash may be a contact dermatitis related to elasticto surgery bra however you need to see your surgeon for an exam.
