Hello i had BBL on Dec 6, so im on 3 weeks and omg I feel like my butt look flat and there really isn't to much of a difference on my body, I know im still a little swollen and bruised up.. I've been avoiding to sit on my butt and i just feel it keeps getting flat, at this point im thinking its my garment maybe it's to tight in the buttocks area killing the fat cells? Will my butt continue gettung flat?
Answer: 3 Weeks Post BBL, Feel There Isn't Too Much Of A Difference - What Can I Do? In a BBL, fat cells with fat inside of them are transferred to the buttocks area from various other areas on the body. In the normal process of wound healing, some of these cells, which are semi viable, will lose their fat and yet still survive. This potentially leads to some flattening in some aspects of the augmented buttocks. If you were my patient, at this point and even earlier, I would use DMSO on your buttocks to open choke vessels to increase the blood supply to this area which then increases the possibility of the survival of semi viable cells. If you are not already, I would recommend you using a BBL pillow which allows you to sit on your posterior thighs and not on your buttocks, therefore decreasing pressure injury to these newly transplanted cells. Thirdly, I would have you use ultrasound (the kind physical therapists use for sore muscles) to once again increase the blood supply to these newly transplanted cells, and also to smooth out any dents that may occur. Finally, I have found that the use of Accolate will modulate the immune system which will increase the chance of a greater number of cells surviving in this newly transplanted area. All of the above allows transplanted, injured cells to gain a blood supply, and afterwards, pick up fat from other areas which then often leads to a secondary rounding out of the appearance of your buttocks. All the mumbo jumbo above means if you were my patient and you followed a few simple tricks, you would increase the rounding out of your buttocks.

Answer: 3 weeks post-op BBL: I feel like my butt looks flat and there really isn't to much of a difference. Thank you for your question and photos. You did include a preop and postop frontal view, and this shows significant improvement in your shape even at three weeks. Without a preop back and side view photo, no comment can be made. Based on your twisted back view photo, I see that your upper lateral buttocks were not contoured well (looks boxy), lower fat pad was not removed fully or you have fluid accumulation in this area which wasn't drained. You still have lower back rolls or your back was not addressed with your sculpting procedure. The garment will not "kill" your fat cells. If the buttocks are overfilled during surgery, the turgor pressure might be higher than capillary pressure which can lead to delayed fat vascularization and increased fat loss.Follow up with your surgeon. With healing and resolution of swelling everything will get smaller. The question is, will your shape improve and your liposuctioned areas will smooth out. There's a possibility that you will need additional surgery to give you the desired shape and contour. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: 3 weeks post-op BBL: I feel like my butt looks flat and there really isn't to much of a difference. (Photos) Thank you for your question. You have to give your body at least 12 weeks to start seeing results and final results can take 3-6 months depending the way your body heals. Please follow up with your surgeon.

Answer: BBL results Dear scared123,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 3 weeks post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: 3 weeks post-op BBL: I feel like my butt looks flat and there really isn't to much of a difference. (Photos) Thank you for your question. Too early to judge on the final result. You are still at the healing stage. The area in your lower back will be still bruised and swollen and this will take 8-12 weeks to settle. Wear your garment and keep your follow up with your surgeon.
