Please ask your doctor. We try to go over the post-op care and instructions in detail before surgery. Regarding liposuction, we encourage patients to get back to normal activity as soon as possible. Your body will tell you what's right. If it causes pain, then don't do it. "No pain, no gain" is not the rule for surgical recovery. Most of our liposuction patients are back to normal activity in three to four days. Patients tell me routinely that they were back to full exercise in three weeks. There is clearly a big difference between normal daily activity and doing jumping jacks. For facelift surgery, I ask my patients to limit all strenuous activity for a minimum of two weeks. In your case, you had a blepharoplasty. With that procedure, I tell my patients to be very gentle around the eyes for 10-12 days. After that, there are no restrictions. Please note that these are my general parameters. Each patient is unique, and you should follow your own doctor's recommendations.I prefer to do my liposuction while my patients are awake, thereby avoiding general anesthesia. It allows me to have my patients move into different positions during the procedure, giving consistently good results. We use no needles, no scalpels and no sutures. The procedure and recovery are easy. Most patients are back to most normal activities in a few days.Have fun at spin class.I hope that helps.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
