This is a common situation especially if your skin is thin in the area. It can easily be taken care of with a limited rhinoplasty (closed or open) . Please find an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon near you who can examine you and help you with your concerns. All the best.
Your nose is nothing unusual. the "bone poking" are the edges of your nasal bones that can be easily corrected with limited rhinoplasty. Usually by just rasping the area under general or sedation anesthesia the problem can be corrected with a short recovery period.
If the only thing that bothers you is the edges of bone, these can be gently shaved during rhinoplasty. The skin in this area is very thin, so depending on a full evaluation, we sometimes cushion the skin as well. Of course, noses should balance, so the entire nose should be evaluated in person.
The skin on your nose is thinnest at the "rhinion" of the nose, which is where you are seeing your nasal bones. Issues like this may be addressed with rhinoplasty surgery, or permanent nonsurgical rhinoplasty - depending on your examination. Thank you. Dr Joseph
Hi, what you are seeing is very common. The skin on your nose is very thin in this area and you are seeing the edges of the nasal bone. I would recommend shaving this area down. When this is performed, you may require repositioning of the nasal bones so that the top of the nose has a more narrow appearance. It would be great to be able to evaluate your entire nose and face so we can determine the best course of action. I recommend choosing a board certified facial plastic surgeon with experience in rhinoplasty to obtain your best result.
in the realm of cosmetic rhinoplasty, there is really nothing medically 'wrong' with anyone's nose.... there are aesthetic issues that are displeasing or deviate from an aesthetic 'ideal'.... as such, I suppose that any nose is a candidate for rhinoplasty so the key is matching the need/want with the possible/potentialthat said, your nose is not extraordinary or unusual.... you have a dorsal hump, a bit too much length and an under-rotated/poorly supported tipthese issues are fairly routinely addressed by experienced hands in a primary rhinoplastygood luck....
The photographs demonstrated dorsal hump which is composed of both bone and cartilage. This can be removed with a closed rhinoplasty approach with which would include the hump removal and osteotomies placed in the nasal bones. Refinements can be performed on the nasal tip if necessary as well.
