How can I get rid of permanent bruising from Juvederm? Nothing my doctor tried has helped (Photo)

I have permanent bruising on my upper lip from a lip injection that my doctor felt he messed up on so he gave me free laser treatment I went 3 times and nothing helps not even the cream they recommended to me. What can I do to get rid of this bruising that makes me feel awful about how I look?

There can be some swelling, bruising, and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling, increase healing, and even out the lumps. Thank you for your question and photo. Bruising is a common risk and normal after fillers. It can last a few days up to two weeks. I would advise you to use arnica gel on the area and apply ice a couple times a day and it should resolve faster. Avoid sodium as it can cause swelling. Hope this helps.

If the laser is having no effect on the bruising then it sounds as if this is hyperpigmentation from the injections and subsequent bruising.  Lasers will not help make this pigmentation go away any faster. Over a period of weeks or months the pigmentation should resolve itself. I would just try to cover the area with makeup until it resolves.  Best, Dr. Green

Bruising is a risk from Juvederm treatments and can persist up to two weeks.  Icing the area intermittently immediately after treatment can be helpful.  Avoiding Vitamin E. aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil a week prior to treatment can help keep the risk from bruising to a minimum.

It is hard to tell from that picture what you are referring too. Bruising after injections usually takes 3-4 days to resolve but can take up to a week or 2 depending on how bad the bruise is. I would wait a full 2 weeks after injections before doing any further lasers. You may not have bruising but post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from the irritation of the laser he used, that will resolve on its own or can be improved with a special cream that targets pigment.  If you are still within the 2 week window from injection, I would use arnica cream or pills and allow your body time to heal.

Thank you so much for your question regarding lip augmentation.  How long has it been since the injections?  It is difficult to accurately assess the area with the photo provided.  
Some lasers can accelerate clearing of bruises, however depending on the patients skin type, it could worsen the issue.  Like I said it is difficult to see if it bruising, shadows, or PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) secondary to the laser treatments. 
For bruising I recommend my patients avoid Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve and use Tylenol for pain as well as Arnica cream and tablets.  You could try these methods.  Ice can also be helpful for bruising. 
I recommend an in person consultation with a board certified provider.

I would LOVE to help you out but the quality of the photo [or maybe the yellow shirt] doesn't allow me to see the area of concern. Upload some new photos and maybe send several from different angles and lighting and I will take a look and respond. 
Usually it's just filler that is too close to the surface and I recommend dissolving it and finding someone who really knows how to inject lips.
