6 months ago I received 1 vial of Juvederm that was spread around my face (a little in the nasolabial folds, a little in the cheeks and a little in the tear trough area). My tear trough looks underfilled. But, also on my left I have a subtle raised area below the trough. I will be going to a doctor that specializes in under eye fillers and am wondering if this is something he can work around- adding more filler in strategic locations. Or will I need to get the filler dissolved & start over?
Answer: Juvederm in the Tear Troughs Requires Precision, Expertise Thank you for your question. It is best to wait for your in-person assessment with your injector to determine the best course of action for you. It is very possible, based on the amount you received, that a top-off of the filler may be what you need to create a more symmetrical look. However, it is also possible that you will need some filler dissolved if there is an area that was overfilled. I am glad you are going to a doctor that has extensive experience in treating the tear trough area. The delicate skin in this area requires ultimate precision and a gentle touch to create a look that is both natural and symmetrical. I wish you all the best as you continue to pursue your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Juvederm Juvederm is a great product that we use daily in our practice. You mentioned many areas injected with just one syringe so the chance of one of those areas being underfilled is a good possibility. One syringe only consists of 1 cc/ml and is typically not enough to cover all those areas. Most importantly, Juvederm is not recommended in the tear trough area as it can tyndall, which means it can have a bluish look to it. I would find an experienced injector who has a variety of different fillers to choose from that work best in specific areas of your face. Best of luck!

Answer: Why did Juvederm filler under eyes produce irregular contour and how can I fix it? It's best to first meet with the injector who will be doing your fillers to determine if it is ok to proceed with more treatment or if the remaining filler should first be dissolved. It is important to discuss your goals from treatment including what you like and don't like from your prior treatment.

Answer: Dermal fillers-Juvederm Thank you so much for your question regarding juvederm injections. I recommend dermal fillers, specifically hyaluronic acid based fillers. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your body and HA based fillers are also reversible. Keep in mind one syringe of filler is the equivalent to 1/5 tspn. Typically patients need one syringe per tear trough (one on each side) in addition to one for NLF. It is possible you just need more product. It is difficult to know for sure without an in person consultation. I recommend an in person consultation with a board certified provider. Hope this helps. Best of luck!
