Will injecting 1 syringe into my cheeks and by my temple help lift my nasolabial lines? (photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  I do think that rejuvenation with filler placement into your cheeks will achieve a nice improvement to your overall facial proportions and will help improve upon your undereyes, cheek, and smile line appearance.  It will not fully correct the smile lines but by doing the cheeks first, you will most likely need less in the smile lines.  Although filling the temples is important for facial appearance, it will not materially impact your smile lines and I would use that syringe directly into the smile lines instead.  Hope this helps.

Hi there! Thank you for your question. Yes- adding lift and volume to the cheeks and temples can even out the nasolabial lines without having to touch this area directly. That said- the effectiveness of this varies from person to person and sometimes product is also injected into the nasolabial folds themselves to smooth this area further. Some minimal bruising and swelling is to be expected following any dermal filler treatment but this should subside within 2 weeks.

Thank you for your question.Filler in the cheeks may help to plump the upper face and may lessen the appearance of the folds. It is not going to make the disappear. You may need volume in the folds as well.

If there is some loss of volume in the cheeks, as depicted in your photo, adding a filler in the cheeks will generally improve the nasolabial folds and lines.  I do not believe that adding filler in the temples has any significant effect on the nasolabial lines or folds though.  I would recommend using at least 1 syringe on each side of your face.  Bruising is possible with any filler treatment but I would say it is not likely.  

The administration of fillers is a highly technical procedure. There are so many factors to consider to determine if you are a good candidate for it, best filler to use, the right amount, injection technique, etc. Moreover, bruising, swelling, sometimes discoloration, lumps, and bumps are normal side effects assuming proper injection. They should be gone in a matter of days.

Restoring volume to the cheeks and midface will, at best, create a very subtle improvement in your nasolabial folds if you look at them in isolation. However, facial rejuvenation is all about proportions. Adding more volume to the midface will make your lower face and jowl area appear slimmer and that will give you a more youthful appearance. It's important to go to an injector who listens to your aesthetic goals but also has an eye for facial proportions. Ask your doctor to explain their thought process and you might feel more comfortable with the plan.
Regarding the bruising, using a cannula instead of a needle not only is less likely to cause bruising but it is also safer. I try to use a cannula for injecting whenever possible. Bruising is always a possibility but I rarely notice it after injecting with a cannula.

It is difficult to determine from the photo alone, but the short answer is yes if there is flattening of the cheek adding filler to that area can help to support the face improving the nasolabial folds as well. However, filler in the actual folds themselves could still be required after adding back volume to the cheek.  Adding filler to the temples can be a great way to restore youthfulness to the face if hollowing is seen, but that is not likely to help the nasolabial folds. 
No matter if a cannula or needle is used you may still experience bruising.  Bruising and swelling can last up to 2 weeks. Best of luck!

Great question - it really depends on the anatomical changes in your face. Yes it is often correct that adults in early 40's or so require some temple support with volume. This is unique to each individual. Fillers should be used to match one's natural anatomy. Best to discuss with local expert injector

Using cannulas to inject filler can help lower the risk of bruising. Bruising is always a risk when doing injections but ways to minimize bruising could be stopping blood thinners a week prior. I would also consider taking Arnica tablets 3 days before injection. Injecting into each cheek and temples could help contour your face making the nasal labial folds less noticeable. You could also inject into the nasal labial folds same day as cheek and temple filler.
