Please tell me how to get rid of the orange-peel chin and deep lines above my upper lip? (photos)

Question

I moisturize daily but to no avail.1. Would filler help and if so, which filler would be best?2. If filler is recommended, how much would I need?3. Would the same filler (if that's what you recommend) be used to remedy both chin and upper lip? 4. If an injectable is used, typically how bad is the bruising in these two areas?5. Instead of filler, would laser treatment be more beneficial?  Thank you! Thank you!

The most effective treatment to improve lip and chin lines is laser skin resurfacing. Both Co2 and Erbium lasers work very well but erbium lasers have less risk for developing post laser hypopigmentaion in this area. I combine PRP with Erbium laser skin resurfacing for the better results and quicker healing. Downtime can range from 1-2 weeks but mild redness may persist longer. 
Minimal to no downtime treatments include botox, fillers, non ablative resurfacing like Fraxel, Profractional  or Halo, RF miconeedling and ulthera. These treatments help but will take multiple treatments and will not give you the same level of improvement as laser skin resurfacing.

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Hi Dt,The absolute best treatment for the area around your mouth is fractionated CO2 laser with PRP (platelet rich plasma).  There is downtime involved but the results are excellent.  Botox in your chin helps as does micro needling and less aggressive lasers depending on the amount of time that you have to recover.  Most importantly choose your treating physician carefully as these treatments are not standard commodities.  Good luck and be well.Dr. P

Treatment for orange peel(""pebble chin"" or ""orange peel"") is Botox injected into the mentalis muscle. This typically gives great improvement to the appearance of the chin. The best treatment for the orange peel appearance of her chin is a neuromodulator-my preference now is Jeuveau.  Improvement can be seen in a week and the results the last 3-4 months.The lines on the upper lip can be addressed in several ways.  Small doses of neuromodulator can be helpful but that should be followed with either a superficial filler or a variety of different lasers.  The choice of laser would depend on how much downtime you're willing to accept.  Good choices for this area would include Fraxel, Halo or TRL.  Fraxel takes the most treatments and has the least downtime whereas TRL takes the fewest treatments and has the longest downtime-your preference.  I'd recommend you see a board-certified dermatologist with all these treatments available to keep your options open.  Best.
