Axillary fat excision - how far around the breast will the scar go?

39F who underwent prophylactic mastectomy at the beginning of April. Implants were placed at the same time I am going for revisions at the end of October and my surgeon wants to remove some fat on the sides of my breasts. She said it would be an excision, no liposuction. My concern is the scar it would leave. She said she is going to take my mastectomy scar and extend it to do the excision. How far around the side of my breasts will it go?

Your surgeon plans to remove fat from the sides of your breasts by extending your existing mastectomy scar, likely toward your armpits but not wrapping around your back. The extension is usually 2–5 inches and designed to improve contour while minimizing additional scarring.
