I just found out that I have BRCA1 gene and am supposed to be getting a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy - however when I was a baby I had 3 heart surgeries and I was looking to see if it seems as if I have congenital symmastia or if the symmastia I’m experiencing was likely due to my surgeries- I haven’t had my consultation yet but am nervous and was hoping to ease my mind before then.

I would think you could achieve a full breast with fat grafting. We should be successful with another round with adequate volume and proper technique. Seems like DIEP or other flaps would be a salvage option. Thank you.
