Hello, my marionette lines look worse after injections a month ago. I had 1 syringe of Juvederm injected in my nasolabial folds and loved the results. Last Wednesday I had 1 syringe of Restylane Defyne injected into my marionette lines and into my left nasolabial fold (for touch up). I am now concerned because I feel like the marionette lines look way worse - is this just swelling from the procedure or is this the final result? Thank you for your time! Answer: Filler expectations Thanks for your question. There certainly can still be swelling 3 days post injection so you should reevaluate things at about 7 to 10 days. However, based on what I can see from the limited photos, most likely if you want your marionette region to look better at this point you will need to address the volume loss in the mid face (cheek region) and/or address the skin laxity that is contributing to the folds- with skin tightening or thread lifting for example. There is only so much that can be achieved with "back filling" the marionette region itself.

Answer: How long for Restalyne Defyne to show final results. Restalyne Defyne and other HA fillers take about 2 weeks to settle and look even better than when first injected. I would recommend that you wait the 2 weeks and at that point meet wt your injector to review your before and after pictures and create a plan. You may need a little more product added, keeping in mind that one syringe of filler is only a teaspoon.Hope this answer is helpful to you.

Swelling is normal at first 3 days after injection which would subside. I would go in with your physician in about 7-10 days if your results are still not at your aesthetic goal.
