There are biologic, immune modulating, and surgical treatments for Hidradenitis. In my office, we begin by controlling the onset of HS and the longterm scarring is mitigated. Treatments for hidradenitis scarring are many including topical treatment protocols and laser therapy. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Greetings. In general, hidradenitis suppurative is not treated with liposuction. It is treated with excision. Definitely consider a consultation with a plastic surgeon in order to determine what is needed in your particular situation. Good luck!
Unfortunately, the best solution for hidradenitis is surgical excision. However, there are many conservative measures that should be discussed before moving on to surgery. Speak with your primary care provider about this.
Hidradenitis Supporativa is a recurrent, protracted infections and inflammation of the apocrine sweat glands. In the past, liposuction with aggressive scraping tubes WAS attempted in an effort to remove these glands. Unfortunately, it really does not work predictably and the best treatment is total resection of the involved glands.Peter Aldea, MDMemphis, TN
Thank you for your question. Hidredinitis can not be removed with liposuction. It needs to be excised completely. Pl see a PS for evaluation
Liposuction removes deposits of fat under your skin whereas hidradenitis is chronic infections of your skin. The usual "solution" for it would be to cut the involved skin out.
Attempts have been made to remove the glands that cause infections with the use of liposuction. The procedure has never caught on as being significantly successful. As previously stated, direct excision is considered the gold standard. After the involved skin has been removed, it can be either sewn together directly or skin grafts or skin flaps can be used after the infected skin has been removed. If you have not done so already, I suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

Thank you for your questions and I am sorry to hear about your side effects with antibiotics and hydrocodone. In most instances liposuction is a procedure that does not require antibiotics in the first few days after the procedure. As far as prescription pain medication, your doctor...
Firmness, lumpiness and somewhat uneven results are common immediately after liposuction. This is typically at its worst between the first and third week. By six weeks, most firmness has dissipated. Final results take around three months. There are a few factors that can have an impact...
