I’m 62 and will be getting a facelift (eventually) but also am liking the looks of a lip lift. Are these two procedures ever done at the same time?

Yes, the two procedures are often combined together.  Patients with jowl and neck skin laxity often have a loss of skin quality around the mouth as well.  This can appear as a long or "horsey" upper lip.  A lip lift done conservatively can significantly improve this.  In addition, laser resurfacing with either the CO2 or Erbium laser can tighten and shorten the upper lip if your lip shape isn't ideal for a lift.

From your photos, it would appear that you would benefit greatly from a lip lift.  The goal is to create a dramatically youthful, yet natural result.  Seek out a facelift expert, ask to see some before and after photos of other patients with similar facial features as yours.

Yes these two procedures can be done at the same time.  I’m usually not crazy about the lip lift because I don’t think the results are worthwhile.  However, in your case your upper lip is so long that it would be a reasonable procedure to include in your facelift.

As I carefully examine your image, it looks as if you would be an excellent candidate for a facelift, neck lift, as well as a lip-lift procedure. These procedures can be done at the same time if you have been medical cleared by your primary-care physician. Your recovery time will overlap for each procedure, and will save you reduced cost in operating-room and surgical fees. Some surgeons will add voluminous amounts of filler to the lips rather than performing the lip-lift procedure, but in your case, only a very small amount of filler would look natural on you, which is why the lip-lift would be recommended. For best results, please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon with a wealth of knowledge and experience with facelifting surgery.
