The droopy tip is a common nasal problem for which I perform rhinoplasty. Not all noses are the same, and the exact cause for the droopy tip would determine if you are a candidate for this procedure. I would encourage you to visit with a facial plastic surgeon to have an evaluation and determine the best approach for addressing your personal concerns. Best Regards
When the tip is close to the upper lip, we say that the nose is "long." Shortening a long nose is a frequent change to make during a rhinoplasty. A significant shortening of the nose, however, requires advanced techniques, techniques that most plastic surgeons cannot handle. Be sure to read the section in the "Web reference" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon.
Hello Seth17102,Thanks for your question.Yes, you can change the angle between the tip and upper lip to space them farther apart.A specialist in rhinoplasty surgery should be consulted to understand your options better. They will evaluate your anatomy, take pictures, and perform simulations to give you an idea of a possible outcome for your nose.I hope this helps.Good luck,Dr. Shah
Great question...Consulting with a qualified facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon is an excellent first step in addressing your concerns and establishing realistic expectations on what can be accomplished. It is the job of the surgeon to figure out how to accomplish your goals in a realistic manner. Without photos or an in person exam, that can't be determined in this forum. Good luck as you move forward!
A nasal tip that is low and too close to the upper lip can be improved with an artistically performed rhinoplasty.Keepin mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website whoproposes to tell you exactly what to do withoutexamining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operativeprocedure would not be in your best surgery. Natural appearing results need tobe individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarilythe best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensiverhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery andone who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic PlasticSurgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trustand are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon inpersonRobertSinger, M.D., FACSLa Jolla, California
A full set of photographs are usually required and make a determination about what can be accomplished with a rhinoplasty procedure. When patient's have a droopy tip, a rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish lifting the nasal tip. For many examples, please see the video and the link below
Treatment of a hanging tip, which means the nose is too long, can be achieved with a tip-plasty to lift the tip or a full rhinoplasty depending on the patient's individual needs.
Hello.Callus formation is normal part of bone healing, it starts forming about a week after rhinoplasty (osteotomy). If it is getting worse, I would discuss this asap with your surgeon.
Hello,I would get a second opinion. The largest bump in your nose doesn't look like scar tissue. Kenalog injections are not innocuous and can potentially cause problems with the skin, lining or shape of the nose.Best of luck!
It should not affect your voice providing you have surgery done by a well-trained and experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. Many years ago it was thought that Barbra Streisand avoided rhinoplasty for the reason you had suggested but as it turns out that was just a tale. At any rate, I would seek an...
