Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Thank you very much for enquire. It's too early to make value judgments with only 2.5 weeks after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity. In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months. To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Scar redness (erythema) at 2.5 weeks postop is not unusual, redness typically fades with time. The more fair you are, the longer a scar seems to stay red. Protect your scar from excessive sun exposure and a scar fade cream/gel may help. I like Biocorneum, it is a scar gel that you put on the area two times per day, as the gel dries it creates an invisible silcone sheet over the scar. It also contains an SPF for sun protection. Hope that helps!
Redness in an incision is a normal part of the early healing process. There is mild benefit from using scar gels that contain silicone however, thesemay minimally improve the redness of the incision line. A treatment with apulsed dye laser (595nm) can help clear the redness sooner. If you areconcerned about the appearance of the scar I recommend contacting your surgeonso that the scar can be assessed and a treatment plan can be discussed.
Dear AshleyrebeccaFor redness in the columellar area , at around 2.5 weeks is normal as these scars can be red and in this area there is pronounced edema typically. A bio oil is appropriate or a scar fade cream, make sure you surgeon has a look to make sure it is just normal scarring. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. In my practice, I encourage patients to start scar creams after the second week following surgery. There are a lot of options, but any silicone-based scar cream will do. Make sure you're putting on sunscreen when you go outside. For more on scar care, check out my blog post!
It is totally normal to have some redness at the incision site for up a month or so. At that point, the incision will start to even out and the redness will improve. There are many options but speak with your surgeon directly. If one of mypatients scar is still red around the 4-6 week mark, I usually can improve it with a quick laser treatment. You are a bit early for that so I would suggest keeping it moisturized and I have my patients use something called Biocorneum which is a scar cream and sunscreen. Best of luck
Very normal to have a red scar. I also recommend aquaphor. It's a nice water based clear solution that helps with moisture. Scars heal faster when they are kept moist. At this point, you can also use makeup with helps but this can take up to 3 months to fully resolve. Good luck! Dr Miguel
Thank you for the question. It is normal for your scar to be red at this time. Every Practice has different protocols for scar care. At our office I prefer Biocorneum, which is a silicone scar cream with sunscreen. Talk with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss their scar protocol. Best Wishes
All scars are red at two weeks, If you are all healed you can try a camouflage make up. Green foundation covers pink.
Yes, it's possible to have had a fracture on the nose and not have it show up on a CT scan after 3 months. It's possible that you had a fracture that was non-displaced and now has healed. At this point, I recommend that you see an ENT physician or a Facial Plastic Surgeon. Good luck!
Dear Dafni in California: Your situation is not that unusual, whereby there is some asymmetry after a rhinoplasty. The issues that you are concerned about may well be improved with surgery, but also quite likely a nonsurgical revision rhinoplasty, either temporary or permanent, would fill the...
Your nose does appear to be deviated in the photographs. There are surgical ways to correct this sort of deformity but the photographs were taken early in your post-operative course. Things may change as your swelling subsides over the next couple of months. If the "crooked" appearance of your ...
