Would Renuvion in addition to Lipo 360 be worth it for mild skin laxity? (Photos)

I am 40 years old, 5'2 at 136lbs, I have two children. I have mild skin laxity and no stretch marks. I am planning to have Lipo 360 with a BBL and I was recommended to have Renuvion of my back, stomach and arms. Will I see a marked improvement from renuvion or will the lipo be enough?

i disagree with many of the providers here, I used renuvion and body tite for a year before ANYONE and did 100s of cases with much much better results than liposuciton alone. they say its not better because they dont know how to use it. and I dont need to promote the device I use it because it givds much better results. the bottom line however, is that you need back lifting, mini tuck, and at least a mini brachioplasty.  if you do not do these skin removals because of scars or bigger procedures, liposuction + j plasma/renuvion will give you improgement but your back and arms will have some sagging and crepe skin and the stomach will be better but may have looseness when you bend forward. I suggest seeing an expert and I also think that you need hormonoal optimization for weight loss and skin tighteing (see link).  
You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

It appears from your photos that you would be an excellent candidate for traditional liposuction, still the gold standard, for your abdomen, flanks, back and upper arms. Reasonable skin contraction should occur considering your age.Don’t fall for the hype and incur extra  add-on expenses regardIng skin tightening devices. Results have been extremely disappointing, prompting repeat treatments that still do not work. Stick with traditional liposuction with fat transfer to your buttocks, (BBL) and use your saved dollars for a new wardrobe! I think your photos demonstrate far too much skin laxity for any of the lasers/machines to be sufficient.   Yes, they are expensive devices. Yes, they are hyped to the public by the cosmeceutical industry which profits from them. Yes, every few months there is a newer, better, less obsolete machine to push.   Yes, many of us can afford these machines but don’t like the gimmicks, the hard sells, etc. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. You seem to be a very good candidate for sculpting with liposuction (PAL) and skin tightening. I use different devices based on anatomical variation for skin tightening. We have Laser (Smart Lipo) Body Tite (radio frequency), VASER (ultrasound) and Revuvion (J-plasma) for skin tightening in various body parts. Of course you would need a consultation (virtual) for precise recommendations and discussions of risks and benefits.

Patients with mild to moderate skin laxity really benefit with adding skin tightening to liposuction. I have both Renuvion and Bodytite and like both systems. You would benefit with either one combined with your liposuction. Liposuction alone will probably leave you with loose skin (especially on your back).I find that when plastic surgeons speak negatively about devices it is because they have no experience with them. These devices are expensive and are only worth buying for the physician with enough patient flow to justify their cost.

Renuvion often called J plasma as my opinion failed to deliver any significant skin tightening with combined with Liposuction.I personally known the device and my experience has been that I simply can’t tell the difference. Some inherent skin contraction  happens simply by having liposuction from the scar tissue that forms after the procedure. This creates more Skin tightening by itself then J plasma can Contribute.You’ll find most providers who spend $100,000 it requires to buy this equipment are going to be more upbeat and try to use this to generate revenue.I did but I also say it like I see it and in my opinion the device is fairly worthless.What does make a difference it is important to consider is the skill and experience of your provider. This is by far more important then choosing to add J plasma or not.You may also want to consider the cost. If your surgeon is adding a substantial fee for the use of this equipment then consider skipping it.The best I can say  for the use of Renuvion is that in the hands of a skilled provider it is perhaps better than not using it.I’m a board-certified plastic surgeon who’s been doing Liposuction for well over 20 years.
