Can I have a scar revision lip lift? (photos)

Question

Had a lip lift 3 yrs ago. Slight lift improvement and some scaring. In May 2016, had second lift which removed scars and more lift, but now left with noticeable puckering line scar when I smile. If second doctor had cut higher toward nasal openings, I don't think such a scar would be noticeable. Is it possible for a third lift to remove puckering scar with incisions higher up?

Dear jammysb~Thanks for sharing your photos.  It would be possible to raise your scar closer to the nose and camouflage it within the natural contours of your nose and face.  Additional skin would have be removed during a revision, which would further accentuate all the features of a lip lift (shorter distance from nose to mouth, everted upper lip, and increased tooth show).  It is not possible to tell from just one photograph what the cause of the puckering is.  Please see a physician for a detailed exam so that the lip can be visualized at rest and during movement to determine the best treatment option.Best wishes,Amy Hsu

Hi Jammysb, we should be able to improve your scar.  I do 3-5 lip lifts each week and we can move the scar up into your nose and the grooves around your nose.

Hello and thank you for your question. In short yes your incision can be moved, however there is no guarantee that the puckering will be completely resolved.  Your now underlying muscle seems to be a bit thick in this region thus causing the roll underneath your nose. Of course an in office consult would be necessary to determine which treatment would be best for you. Good luck!
